Mother’s Day - MAY 2011 (created for all the moms at church)
You’ve got to know that there is hope In this life time It’s here for you!, It’s here for you! You’ve got to know that there is truth In this life time It’s here for you!, It’s here for you! You’ve got to know that there is love In this life time It’s waiting for you!, It’s waiting for you!
Open your heart.
Get ready.
Expect the unexpected.
YOU are significant
and God wants to do something significant IN YOU and THROUGH YOU
We are saved. Not just saved but called. Called to live a life of LOVE.
Not just love with words or with tongue, but with action and in truth.
1 John 3:18
The entire law is summed up in a single command:
That is to “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Galatians 5:14
so this must be our continued response:
to refuse indifference,
to seek justice,
to reject apathy,
to release love,
and to reflect Christ
Tonight let us fix our eyes on Jesus
Let’s exalt His Name
Let us come with thanksgiving
Let us come in spirit and in truth
Let’s worship Him and praise Him like never before!
Let’s magnify the NAME OF JESUS!
and shout praise to the heavens
because all glory belongs to His Name!
He is our SAVIOUR and He is
THE DANGEROUS ONE!
DANGEROUS
BY TIM 17 NOV 2008I recently heard Bono say that ‘very good is the enemy of great.’ It’s a real challenge to me as a songwriter and someone who spends time trying to be creative. All too easily we can get to a level where we think we’ve mastered something - be it playing music, writing songs, painting pictures, designing visuals - and we relax in our gifting. We settle in how we work and operate feeling a sense of ‘I can do this well - tick box!’ However often we get caught in ruts – churning out the same old predictable and safe ideas. They may be good, but they’ll probably fall short of being great. Art is meant to make us feel, to dream, to be shaken up. Bono goes on to say about U2’s songs, “I want people when they hear our songs to fall in love, to have babies, to leave their job and to start a revolution.” Our creativity needs to go beyond our head and thinking and connect more with the heart and emotions. Great art allows us to feel and express. In some way it changes us. In our creativity if we settle for safe and ‘good,’ we’ll fail to discover those ideas that are ‘great’ and life-changing.
Just wanted to tell you this…
Gungor is nothing more than what you or I can do. For 2 years now I’ve been telling everyone that has a listening ear that what the church is looking for is a new sound of worship music. The young people/college age are searching and searching for a new sound of worship music that they can worship God to. I’ve been trying to write & record and find that sound. I love Hillsong & Tim Hughes/Matt Redman style but I feel like a new thing is rising. So when I found Gungor is said “YES!”
For me I’ve totally been trying to write and write differently than the norm. That’s why I wrote a worship song with techno beats. It’s very hard for me because it’s only “me”. I think there is something cool when 2 or more people write music and jam and they are in sync with each other, something really awesome happens and you make “music” real creative, inspiring, music. It’s something special. Everyone brings in their pieces of art and it combines and it becomes a great piece art that no one can top cuz it’s a unique thing. Anyways. All I’m saying is musicians, who want to make great art, come on let’s do it! Cuz I want to jam!!
